This environment is supported by this position acting as a role model and as a mentor and coach to the staff.

Job Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
  • Certification within specialty area within two years of assuming position
  • Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS)
  • Registered Nurse
  • Membership in related professional organization preferred
  • 2-3 years experience in Progressive Leadership in Nursing in a related field
  • 2-3 years experience in Clinical Nursing
Job Responsibilities
  • Quality and Patient Safety: Identify key indicators and implement performance improvement measures related to quality, safety, nursing practice outcomes, and customer needs. Evaluate customer satisfaction.
  • Retention Risk Assessment: Solicit staff concerns, assist in retention of new employees, and demonstrate approachability and high visibility.
  • Staff Recruitment and Selection: Assess staffing needs, partner with HR, network to enhance candidate pool, and interview candidates.
  • Customizing Staff Development: Identify educational needs, facilitate development opportunities, and monitor staff performance and policy compliance.
  • Enhancing Unit Communication: Use varied communication methods for feedback and develop effective relationships with physicians and staff.
  • Unit Leadership: Collaborate with staff to develop and reach performance goals, develop leaders, and foster mutual respect.
Other Job-Related Information

Direct Report FTEs= 60-99; Indirect Report FTEs= 60-99. Responsible for one department with 60+ FTEs or multiple departments with 40+ FTEs.
