Job summary

Saint Francis Hospital, part of Trinity Health Of New England, seeks an experienced Nurse Manager to lead the Float Pool and Centralized Staffing Operations. This role drives staffing strategy, workforce optimization, and professional development across the hospital.

The Nurse Manager partners with Nursing Leadership, HR, Talent Acquisition, and operations to deliver safe, efficient staffing, quality outcomes, and an excellent colleague experience. Connecticut RN licensure is required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current RN licensure in Connecticut.
• BSN required.
• Minimum three years of progressive nursing leadership experience.
• Experience in staffing, scheduling, workforce management, or operational nursing leadership.
• MSN or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide operational and clinical leadership for the hospital's float pool and centralized staffing functions.
• Lead recruitment, onboarding, retention, engagement, and professional development of float pool staff.
• Develop and execute plans to expand float pool utilization across inpatient and specialty areas.
• Oversee centralized staffing and scheduling for safe, equitable, cost-effective coverage.
• Monitor staffing plans, productivity, acuity, and census trends to optimize deployment.
• Collaborate with leaders to identify staffing challenges and implement solutions.
• Ensure regulatory and policy compliance and use data to drive improvements.
