Job summary

Avenues Recovery Center in Fort Wayne operates a 100-bed residential program offering detox and inpatient rehab services. We seek a Nurse Manager for first shift to lead nursing and support staff, ensuring quality medical care and smooth coordination across departments.

This role requires an active RN license in Indiana (or multi-state) and a focus on leadership, collaboration, and compliance with clinical standards. On-site work with comprehensive benefits awaits.

Qualifications

• RN licensure in-state or compact licensure with multistate privileges required to practice nursing.
• One year of experience in substance use treatment field preferred.
• Excellent oral and written communication and critical thinking skills.
• Strong collaborative, multitasking, and time-management abilities with a commitment to excellence.

Responsibilities

• Ensure quality, compassionate, and timely medical care for every client.
• Coordinate client care between medical and clinical departments, UR team, external providers, and pharmacies.
• Oversee medication inventory, logs, authorizations, lab shipments and reports, and medical supplies.
• Direct nursing and medical staff, including interviews, onboarding, training, retention, scheduling, and performance reviews.
• Maintain medical workflow processes and review protocols and operations.
• Ensure quality medical documentation and charting standards via weekly chart reviews.

Now hiring a Nurse Manager for First Shift

(Monday - Friday, 8am - 4:30pm)!

What You'll Do

• Ensure quality, compassionate, and timely medical care for every Avenues client
• Ensure seamless coordination of client care between medical and clinical departments, UR team, external healthcare providers, and pharmacies
• Oversee all medication inventory, logs, and authorizations, lab shipments and reports, medical supplies and equipment etc.
• Oversee and direct all nursing and medical support staff (interviews, onboarding, training, retention, scheduling, shift coverage, HR needs, and performance reviews)
• Maintain medical workflow process and conduct ongoing reviews of protocol and operations
• Ensure quality medical documentation and charting standards through weekly chart review

What We're Looking For

• Minimum one year diploma program post - high school
• one year experience in substance use treatment field preferred
• Valid RN licensure necessary to practice nursing in-state, or compact licensure with multistate privileges
• Excellent oral and written communication and critical thinking skills
• Strong collaborative, multitasking, and time-management skills
• Natural leadership abilities with commitment to excellence
