Job summary

Avenues Recovery Center in Fort Wayne, IN, is seeking a Nurse Manager for First Shift (Mon-Fri, 8am-4:30pm) to lead nursing and medical support staff in our 100-bed residential facility offering detox and inpatient rehabilitation. You will ensure compassionate, timely medical care and coordinate patient care across medical, clinical, and external providers.

Active RN licensure in-state or compact, plus strong leadership, communication, and team-management skills, are required.

Qualifications

• RN licensure required to practice nursing in Indiana (or compact license).
• Experience in substance use treatment is preferred.
• Excellent oral and written communication and leadership abilities.

Responsibilities

• Oversee nursing and medical support staff, including interviews, onboarding, scheduling, and performance reviews.
• Coordinate patient care between medical, clinical, UR, external providers, and pharmacies.
• Manage medication inventory, logs, and authorizations, lab shipments and reports.
• Maintain medical workflow and ensure documentation and charting standards.

Now hiring a Nurse Manager for First Shift (Monday - Friday, 8am - 4:30pm)

What You'll Do

• Ensure quality, compassionate, and timely medical care for every Avenues client
• Ensure seamless coordination of client care between medical and clinical departments, UR team, external healthcare providers, and pharmacies
• Oversee all medication inventory, logs, and authorizations, lab shipments and reports, medical supplies and equipment etc.
• Oversee and direct all nursing and medical support staff (interviews, onboarding, training, retention, scheduling, shift coverage, HR needs, and performance reviews)
• Maintain medical workflow process and conduct ongoing reviews of protocol and operations
• Ensure quality medical documentation and charting standards through weekly chart review

What We're Looking For

• Minimum one year diploma program post - high school
• one year experience in substance use treatment field preferred
• Valid RN licensure necessary to practice nursing in-state, or compact licensure with multistate privileges
• Excellent oral and written communication and critical thinking skills
• Strong collaborative, multitasking, and time-management skills
• Natural leadership abilities with commitment to excellence
