Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or MSN (Required).
• Experience: Minimum 3 years RN experience; minimum 2 years leadership experience.
• Credentials: Oregon nursing license; BLS required; ACLS preferred.

Nurse Manager, Emergency Department | Florence, Oregon

PeaceHealth is seeking an experienced Nurse Manager to lead our Emergency Department in beautiful Florence, Oregon. This full-time leadership opportunity is based at a critical access hospital featuring a busy 9-bed Emergency Department that plays a vital role in serving the local coastal community.

The salary range for this position is $71.02 to $106.54 per hour.

As the Nurse Manager, you will provide leadership and oversight for nursing operations within the Emergency Department. This role is responsible for driving operational excellence, ensuring high-quality patient care, fostering an exceptional service environment, and maintaining regulatory compliance. You will lead staffing and resource management strategies, oversee department performance, manage budgets and costs, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to achieve organizational goals and positive patient outcomes.

In this role, you will:

• Demonstrate compassion, respect and caring while working within the scope of Registered Nurse practice to provide individualized, safe and efficient care to patients with an interdisciplinary team and provide assistance to families and visitors.

• Responsible for 24-hour day-to-day operations of unit: supervision of personnel; staff performance and patient outcomes; staff procurement and retention; regulatory compliance; and patient care. Evaluate work performance and conduct annual performance assessments. Delegate and coordinate responsibility for completion of departmental projects, tasks, and activities.

• Assist with the implementation of strategic initiatives for the department and identifies, assesses, and responds to issues and problems which affect ability to meet goals/objectives.

• Manage staffing levels required to provide optimum patient care within the limits of available resources.

• Assure quality of care by aligning assigned unit (s) with the hospital and nursing division’s philosophies and standards of care; carry out adherence to state board of nursing and state nurse practice act requirements and to other governing agency regulations; measure health outcomes against standards; make or recommend adjustments.

• Deliver financial results for area (s) of accountability.

• Maintain a collaborative and cooperative working relationship with other departments and divisions; facilitating operational, quality, performance and change initiative implementation.

• May perform patient care duties.

Education:Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or MSN Required

Experience:

• Minimum of 3 years related RN experience

• Minimum of 2 years leadership experience required ( Work experience which demonstrates progressive leadership responsibility, e.g., Charge Nurse or supervisory role, etc)

• Required: Financial and budgetary knowledge and experience

Credentials

• Required: State of Oregon nursing license

• Required Upon Hire: Basic Life Support

• Preferred: Advanced Cardiac Life Support

Oregon West Network - Home Health/Hospice: May be asked to provide coverage for new patient registration, intake and/or follow up within CareConnect.

Peace Harbor - Labor & Delivery:

• Collaborates with Educator on: assessing educational needs; plan, provide and evaluate educational programs for nursing staff, interdisciplinary healthcare team, and community.

• Peace Harbor Labor & Delivery Nurse Manager also serves as the Clinic Manager for the Women’s Health (Obstetrics & Gynecology) Clinic and all functions.
