Essentia Health in Duluth, MN seeks a Nurse Manager to lead the Birthplace unit, directing nursing care and patient support 24/7. You will ensure smooth transitions and efficient delivery systems while maintaining fiscal and operational performance.

You will mentor staff, recruit and onboard new nurses, and partner with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to uphold quality care and safety standards across the unit.

Qualifications

• Provides leadership and direction to the nursing staff within the acute care unit
• Collaborates with physicians, healthcare professionals, and interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans
• Monitors and evaluates patient outcomes, ensures adherence to quality standards, protocols, and regulatory requirements
• Manages and allocates nursing resources effectively, including staffing, scheduling, and assignments
• Fosters a positive work culture that promotes teamwork, professional growth, and open communication
• Mentors, coaches, and provides feedback to nurses and other staff
• Participates in the recruitment, selection and onboarding of nursing staff
• Collaborates with nursing leadership to develop policies and quality improvement initiatives

Responsibilities

• Lead daily operations for the nursing unit to ensure patient-centered care
• Oversee staffing, scheduling, and resource allocation to maintain optimal patient flow
• Coach and evaluate staff to support professional development and competency
