ResponsibilitiesThe nurse manager 24/7 practice is accountable for implementing Mayo Clinic's vision, mission, and values within defined practice areas. The role involves planning, directing, coordinating, and evaluating operational, fiscal, and personnel activities to ensure quality patient care 24 hours a day. The individual contributes to strategic planning and organizational goals, manages one or more inpatient units based on complexity and size, advocates for resource allocation, and manages the total work unit budget. Promoting shared decision-making, acting as a resource, and facilitating collaboration across disciplines are key responsibilities. The nurse manager also promotes staff development and maintains a professional environment. Direct reports may include nurse supervisors of inpatient units.

Qualifications- Graduate of an accredited baccalaureate nursing program; master's preferred.
- Graduate of an ACEN or CCNE accredited Master's in Nursing or DNP program, or related field approved by Mayo Clinic Nurse Executive Committee.
- Minimum of three years of nursing practice or progressive leadership experience.
- Demonstrated leadership ability.
- Experience in the department's specialty preferred.
- Management experience preferred.
Certification/Licensure
- Current state RN license or acceptable equivalent.
- Maintains BLS competency.
- Additional state licensure or specialty certification as required.
