Qualifications

• Master’s degree in nursing or related field; if related, must have a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
• If no Master’s degree, must have a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing and be actively enrolled in an approved Master’s or Doctorate nursing or related field program; degree must be obtained within 5 years of hire.
• Three to five (3 to 5) years of professional leadership experience (e.g., charge nurse, team leader, preceptor).
• Five (5) years clinical experience.

Responsibilities

• Recruits, hires, and evaluates nursing unit staff.

This position reports to the Director of Perioperative and Procedural Services and provides leadership and oversight for clinical operations, patient care, staff, and service excellence across these areas.

• Maintains and demonstrates current knowledge in the administration of health care organizations to advance nursing practice and the provision of quality health care services
• Systematically evaluates the quality, safety and effectiveness of nursing practice, and patient care outcomes - Develops, maintains and evaluates unit based patient and staff data collection systems and processes to support the practice of nursing and delivery of high quality care
• Provides a healing environment to patients, visitors, staff and providers through maintenance of an organized and clean patient care unit
• Evaluates personal performance based on professional practice standards, relevant statues, policies, organizational criteria, and outcomes achievement

Minimum Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in nursing or related field. If the Master’s degree is in a related field, the individual must have a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from an accredited program
• Individuals who do not have a Master’s degree in either nursing or a related field must have a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing and be actively enrolled in an approved Master’s or Doctorate nursing or related field program. The Master’s or Doctorate degree must be obtained within 5 years of hire as a condition of continued employment
• Three to five (3 to 5) years of professional leadership experience (i.e., charge nurse, team leader, preceptor, committee chair, etc.)
• Five (5) years clinical experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• Recent hospital experience preferably in Cardiology or Cath Lab
• Nursing management experience
