High Point & Affiliated Organizations is seeking an experienced Nurse Manager to lead an outpatient nursing unit within a behavioral health program in Massachusetts.

The role focuses on regulatory compliance, clinical leadership, and efficient operation of the nursing unit. Eligible candidates hold a MA RN license and have 5–8 years of care experience with 2–5 years in supervision, supported by strong communication skills.

Qualifications

  • Five to eight years of direct care experience within a behavioral health and/or substance use disorder treatment setting.
  • 2-5 years supervisory experience preferred.
  • Current and unrestricted license in Massachusetts as a Registered Nurse.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with Federal Regulations, 42 CFR Part 2, HIPAA, and confidentiality standards.
  • Oversee nursing staff and staffing to maintain patient safety and care quality.
  • Coordinate medical care, medications, and vital signs monitoring.
  • Assist with discharge planning and care coordination activities.
  • Provide crisis counseling and risk management as needed.
  • Develop nursing records and participate in policy/procedure reviews.

High Point has programs located throughout Southeast Massachusetts offering a full continuum of care for substance use and mental health treatment, including inpatient, outpatient, residential, and community-based services. Nurse Manager Requirements

  • Must always present as courteous and professional.

  • Must have the ability to work with others in a cooperative and collaborative manner.

  • Knowledge of basic computer skills and software programs including the ability to learn, use and train HPTC`s electronic medical records
  • Ability to provide leadership and program development within an outpatient site
  • Knowledge of major clinical therapeutic models and behavioral health best practice
  • Strong organizational, verbal and written communication skills.

Nurse Manager Duties & Responsibilities

  • Compliance with the Federal Regulations, 42 CFR Part 2, Confidentiality of Alcohol and Drug Abuse Patients and HIPAA Regulations;
  • Compliance with DPH, DMH, Joint Commission, DEA and all other regulatory agencies as required;
  • Knowledge of ASAM criteria;
  • Monitoring of patient needs related to filling practitioner orders, administration of medications, monitoring vital signs, coordinating medical care, monitoring withdrawal (COWS/CIWA);
  • Assist with discharge planning and care coordination activities;
  • Provide brief crisis counseling, individualized risk management and safety planning;
  • Provide psychoeducation to both patients and staff related to medical/nursing areas of expertise;
  • Ensure patient care meets best practice standards;
  • Ensure compliance with all governing regulations and payor guidelines;
  • Ensure compliance with High Point policies and procedures;
  • Participate in the recruitment, hiring, promotion, training, and evaluation of nursing staff;
  • Assist in developing nursing and medication records on each patient;
  • Reviews and make recommendations regarding policies and procedures;
  • Reports to Infection Control Committee as needed;
  • Assist in monitoring inventory, ordering of medications, and equipment needed for daily operation of the unit in collaboration with the pharmacy;
  • Responsible for the fiscal management i.e. nursing budget for the unit;
  • Participate in quality assurance and implementing quality improvement planning, including Tally Card, CQI and/or failure mode projects;
  • Reviews Incident Reports and Sentinel Events, as required;
  • Provide supervision for nursing staff personnel;
  • Participate in all required committee meetings;
  • Responsible for the proper disposal of medications;
  • Responsible for the scheduling of nurses to maintain adequate nursing staffing patterns to manage the day-to-day operation of the unit;
  • Monitors both open and closed charts for correct and complete documentation;
  • Assists in the development and monitoring of programming schedules;
  • Attends monthly Nurse Managers meeting to maintain consistency in nursing practice;
  • Attend mandatory training to update knowledge base and enhance both professional and personal growth;
  • Other duties as assigned by the Director of Nursing, Site Director / COO to insure safe and appropriate operation of the program(s).

Nurse Manager Qualifications

  • Current and unrestricted license in Massachusetts as a Registered Nurse.

Pay Range: $100,006 to $135,200 salaried, depending on experience

The salary range listed is provided in accordance with Massachusetts pay transparency guidelines and current market benchmarks. Actual compensation may vary based on experience, education, certifications, skills, and internal equity. High Point reserves the right to adjust compensation based on organizational needs.
