Job summary

High Point & Affiliated Organizations is a health and human service agency providing a full continuum of care for substance use and mental health treatment in Southeastern Massachusetts. The role focuses on counseling, assessments, discharge planning, and daily patient care in a fast-paced clinical setting.

Qualifications include a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree and/or licensure, with at least one year of supervised counseling experience.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree &/or independently licensed in a related field.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of supervised substance abuse counseling experience.
  • Any compensation range provided is an estimate; actual offer may vary by experience, skills, and location.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care including assessments, individual counseling, daily groups, discharge planning, and progress notes.
  • Maintain assigned caseload with timely, complete entries in medical records.
  • Link patients with aftercare services prior to discharge and assist families in accessing outpatient services.
  • Attend all unit, facility meetings and case conferences as directed by the Clinical Director.
  • Maintain HIPAA and confidentiality; comply with 42 CFR Part 2 and related regulations.

Pay Range: $28 - $39 (Education, experience, & licensure dependent)
Status/Shift: Full Time - Tuesday - Friday are 8am - 4:30pm and Saturday is 1pm - 9:30pm

High Point & Affiliated Organizations is a health and human service agency whose mission is to treat and prevent substance use disorders and mental illness. High Point has programs located throughout Southeastern Massachusetts offering a full continuum of care for substance use and mental health treatment, including inpatient, outpatient, residential, and community-based services.   • Excellent verbal and written communications skills

  • Promote and enhance ones knowledge about the symptoms of psychiatric illness and addiction

  • Maintains and submits any current Licensure or Certificate necessary for the performance of the position
  • Comply with Federal Regulations, 42 CFR Part 2, Confidentiality of Alcohol Abuse Policy and HIPAA Regulations
  • Participate in Treatment Team Meetings
  • Maintain assigned caseload; Providing direct care to patients – including assessments of the new patients, individual counseling, discharge planning, treatment plans, daily progress notes, daily groups, group note completion and completion of bio-psychosocial assessments
  • Responsible for each assigned patients medical records. All records are to be professional, complete and thorough with entries made in a timely manners
  • Provide direct care to the patients. This care will include, but not limited to, individual counseling, group facilitation, lectures, orientation for new patient’s, discharge & aftercare planning, & case management of patients assigned
  • Responsible for linking patient’s with aftercare services prior to discharge and aiding the patient and his/her family access outpatient services when appropriate
  • Attend all unit, facility meetings and case conferences as directed by the Clinical Director
  • Attend mandatory trainings
  • Responsible for continued education in the field of substance abuse and related courses
  • Responsible for contacting the insurance company for authorization, as needed
  • Utilize walkie-talkie as campus responder
  • Utilize standards precautions at all times
  • Demonstrates behaviors that recognize the rights of patients as defined by the patient’s rights
  • Other duties as assigned by the Program Director, the Clinical Director, and/or the Senior Clinician

Clinician Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree &/or independently licensed in a related field
  • Minimum of one (1) year of supervised substance abuse counseling experience
