Kalamazoo County is seeking an LPN to provide comprehensive medical and nursing care for residents of the Kalamazoo County Jail, a 24-hour secured facility. The role follows the nursing process under the Sheriff’s contracted physician, coordinating with mental health providers, physicians, hospitals, and pharmacies.
Responsibilities include assessing residents, administering meds, evaluating new arrestees, and performing MDOC-required physicals.
The purpose of this position is to provide comprehensive medical and nursing care to individuals residing in the Kalamazoo County Jail, a 24-hour, secure criminal justice facility. Nursing services are delivered using the established nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, intervention, and evaluation, in accordance with applicable state jail standards, all relevant laws and regulations, and under the direction of the Sheriff’s Office contracted physician
This position collaborates with interdisciplinary partners, including mental health providers, contracted physicians, local hospitals, and pharmacies, to ensure continuity of care, maintain security and safety standards, and deliver effective, patient-centered treatment in accordance with accepted best practices
