Job summary

The Chief of Sterile Processing Service (SPS) reports to the Associate Director for Patient Care Services (ADPCS) of the VAPIHCS. This role oversees SPS across the organization, directing nursing processes and evaluating outcomes.

Candidates must have an approved nursing degree (ADN/BSN/MSN or higher) and hold active US licensure. Leadership experience in sterile processing is preferred, with a recruitment/relocation incentive possible for highly qualified applicants.

Qualifications

• Proficient in basic written and spoken English.
• Nursing degree from an accredited program.
• Current, full, active US nursing license/registration.
• GNT exception allows temporary appointment while pursuing licensure.
• Foreign education equivalency validation may be required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Sterile Processing Service (SPS) across the organization.
• Provide direction for nursing processes in SPS.
• Assess outcomes related to nursing care within SPS.
• Lead and manage SPS staff and operations.
