AdventHealth in Davenport, FL is seeking an experienced Nursing Leader to manage the assigned unit. The role involves staffing, hiring, coaching, and ensuring regulatory compliance, patient safety, and quality outcomes.

You will oversee budgets, coordinate education, and run regular staff meetings while fostering psychological safety and teamwork. The schedule is night shift with 3 12-hour shifts per week, plus administrative time, and a focus on continuous learning and performance improvement.

Qualifications

• Thorough understanding of hospital policies, procedures and legal aspects of acute care nursing.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
• Basic computer skills, including experience with an Electronic Health Record.
• Five or more years of current clinical experience (preferred).
• Cerner documentation (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Manages assigned direct reports including recruitment, hiring, coaching, disciplinary actions, development, education, competencies and evaluations.
• Demonstrates critical thinking, creativity and resource management to achieve quality performance.
• Fosters a culture of psychological safety where team members feel supported and empowered to speak up.
• Provides ongoing education and training to nursing staff to maintain high competency levels.
• Prepares the unit for audits and surveys and coordinates staff education to maintain readiness.
• Manages nursing staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage and optimal patient care.
• Conducts regular staff meetings to communicate updates and guidance.
• Assists in developing, implementing and evaluating service programs to ensure quality care.
• Manages budgets and resources to meet financial and operational goals.
