Job summary

HCA Houston Healthcare Tomball is seeking a House Supervisor PRN to oversee all house-wide functions during shifts and support the nursing management team. You will ensure patient-centered care, coordinate staff, and uphold policies.

Ideal candidates hold an Associate Degree in Nursing or RN Diploma, with 5+ years of clinical practice and an active RN license. BLS is required and the role offers PRN scheduling within a leading healthcare system.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Nursing or RN Diploma Required.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing Preferred.
• 5+ years experience in clinical practice Required.
• Current state RN license (or active compact license) per regulations.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate all house-wide functions during the designated shift.
• Make decisions regarding patient care and staff management per policies.
• Monitor and evaluate nursing care to meet patient and family needs.
• Act as authority in absence of nursing management/administrative team.
• Direct staff in emergencies and ensure compliance with policies and standards.
• Support achievement of internal/external benchmarks and accreditations.
• Manage admissions and discharges to ensure throughput and care quality.
• Coordinate interdisciplinary care across departments and ensure competent staff assignment.
• Promote an exceptional patient experience and service recovery when needed.
• Lead in a way that supports hospital vision and values.
• Provide coaching, feedback, and training to improve performance.
