Job summary

The Veterans Health Administration at the Department of Veterans Affairs seeks a Nurse IV Designated Education Officer (DEO) to lead and oversee health professions education programs. The role directs education, mentorship, and program quality across trainees and staff within a complex VA facility.

Qualified candidates will hold an MSN (or doctoral equivalent), possess an active U.S. nursing license, and demonstrate leadership in healthcare education and program administration.

Qualifications

• MSN and 4 years of professional nursing experience.
• Current, full, active, unrestricted nursing license in the United States.
• Foreign-educated nurses require degree equivalency validation.

Responsibilities

• Advises, administrates, educates and mentors in Health Professions Education (HPE) programs.
• Oversees the quality of health professions training and trainee care at the VA facility.
• Provides leadership for HPE services supporting paid and without compensation trainees across programs.
• Collaborates with VHA Office of Academic Affiliations (OAA) for policy guidance and program evaluation.
