Job summary

Philadelphia Corporation for Aging seeks a Nurse Investigator/Consultant for Older Adult Protective Services (OAPS). The role focuses on investigating abuse and neglect of adults 60+, assessing needs, and coordinating short-term case management in collaboration with a multi-disciplinary team.

The position requires an RN license and at least 2 years in community home health, with strong assessment and advocacy skills. Bilingual abilities are a plus.

Qualifications

• RN license required.
• Minimum of two years in community home health.
• Ability to function independently as staff educator, team member and consultant.
• Experience addressing complex psychosocial, medical, legal and ethical client situations.
• Second language abilities preferred.

Responsibilities

• Investigates allegations of abuse, neglect, financial exploitation, and abandonment.
• Completes a thorough assessment of older adults' needs and creates a care plan.
• Assesses need for emergency intervention and testifies in court as needed.
• Guides and supports investigators handling very high-risk cases with complex symptoms.
• Advises on laws, regulations, and policies affecting services to vulnerable consumers.
• Documents all case activity per regulations and policies.
