Job summary

Philadelphia Corporation for Aging is seeking a Protective Services Investigator to assess medical, social, and psychological needs of older adults and investigate elder abuse, neglect, and financial exploitation in Philadelphia County. The role requires field visits, interviews, and coordination with public services to ensure safety and well-being.

The position involves in-person work, occasional office meetings, and a hybrid option after six months.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in social work, behavior sciences, human services, or related field.
• 1 year of professional human services, law enforcement, or nursing experience.
• A valid driver's license, a good driving record, and access to a fully insured car.
• Strong time management, organizational skills, and excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Receives and investigates reports of abuse, neglect, exploitation, and abandonment of individuals aged 60 and above.
• Conducts in-person interviews and gathers evidence to determine substantiation of reports.
• Assesses need for emergency intervention including court orders when appropriate.
• Seeks support from law enforcement for court orders and safety measures.
• Completes investigations and develops care plans involving family, friends, and service providers.
• Provides ongoing case management to older adults in protective services.
