Overview:

1. Trains and assesses the competency of Certified Home Health Aides (HHAs) and trainees.
2. Develops and delivers training programs/courses to staff focusing on specific clinical areas/member care.

What You Will Do

• Provide classroom instruction and clinical assessment of students enrolled in the Home Health Aide (HHA) Training Program in accordance with New York State Department of Health regulations.
• Supervise and evaluate the skills of trainees and HHAs in various settings.
• Deliver in-service and specialty classes for paraprofessionals, demonstrating skills and ensuring competency.
• Identify learning needs, revise, and develop curriculum content.
• Communicate performance concerns to appropriate supervisors.
• Act as a liaison between the Education Department and Operations staff.
• Create a safe and respectful environment for HHAs.
• Collaborate on the development of specialty programs.
• Orient new hires to VNS Health policies, procedures, and expectations.
• Participate in reviewing and improving the HHA Training Program.
• Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned.
• Work 3 days per week in Manhattan (5 Penn).

Qualifications

• License and current registration as a registered nurse in New York State.
• Associate's Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's preferred.
• Bilingual in English/Chinese (Mandarin).
• Minimum two years of nursing experience, with at least one year in a home health care agency.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Strong facilitation and training skills preferred.
• Experience supervising HHAs or paraprofessionals preferred.

Regulatory and Certification Requirements

• Must meet federal and state regulations for Nurse Instructors, including experience and licensure requirements.
• Cannot be on restricted or excluded lists.

Pay Range

USD $40.95 - USD $51.19 /Hr.
