Job Description
Work at Home Bilingual Trique-English Phone Interpreter

Location: Remote position within the United States

Pay: $1.25 - $1.40 per minute, depending on call time and interpretation level.

Position Overview:

The Trique Telephone Interpreter handles on-demand calls, interpreting conversations between Trique and English speakers across various sectors such as healthcare, government, insurance, finance, utilities, travel & hospitality, law enforcement, and more.

The role requires quick, accurate processing of information, cultural sensitivity, professionalism, and the ability to handle sensitive or emotional calls, including emergency situations like 911 calls.

This position involves verbal interpretation only; translation of written materials is not required, though linguistic skills in translation are welcomed.

This is a remote role. The interpreter must work from a quiet, secure home office environment.

Essential Job Functions:
  • Promptly respond to and conduct interpretation sessions professionally.
  • Render accurate meanings according to interpretation protocols, avoiding omissions or additions.
  • Maintain clear speech and professional demeanor.
  • Stay calm and professional during emotionally charged or stressful calls.
  • Be punctual and available during scheduled hours.
  • Follow client instructions and protocol, avoiding unauthorized interaction with LEP individuals.
  • Understand industry-specific terminology and demonstrate cultural sensitivity.
  • Remain committed to confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
Qualifications:
  • Fluency in Trique and English, with cultural competence.
  • Excellent listening, retention, and note-taking skills.
  • Ability to stay neutral and objective, especially with sensitive topics.
  • Educational or professional background in language fields preferred.
  • Ability to adapt to technological updates.
  • Must be 18 or older and legally authorized to work in the U.S.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to read and write in the requested languages highly preferred.
Additional Requirements:

Post-offer background checks and drug screening may be required based on location.

Technical & Physical Requirements:
  • Personal device (computer, tablet, or smartphone) with internet access.
  • Quiet workspace free from background noise.
  • Ability to operate a keyboard/mouse and lift up to 26 lbs.
