Job summary

Harbor Village Rehabilitation & Nursing Center in New London, CT is seeking an enthusiastic Nurse Infection Preventionist to lead our infection control program within a short-term rehab and skilled nursing setting.

The ideal candidate holds a current state nursing license, brings experience in hospital or long-term care infection prevention, and can supervise staff while maintaining the highest patient-resident safety standards.

Qualifications

• Must hold a current state nursing license and be a nurse in good standing.
• Experience in infection prevention within healthcare settings.
• Ability to supervise and instruct others.
• Attention to detail and ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
• Experience in hospital or long-term care facility.
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations and infection control guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, and evaluate the facility's infection control program.
• Monitor outbreaks and report as required to medical staff and leadership.
• Coordinate and deliver infection prevention training for staff.
• Provide direct nursing care as needed by the Nursing Services Department.
• Prepare required reports for quarterly medical staff meetings.
