Job summary

BayCare Health System in Clearwater area is seeking a Nurse Helper I to assist nursing staff in delivering patient care under the supervision of the RN.

Primary duties include providing routine bedside assistance while avoiding exposure to body fluids and assisting with basic care tasks. The position is based at Morton Plant with a day shift and rotating weekend schedule; on-site work only.

Qualifications

• Completion of Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire.
• Standard WELLE training is required.
• Must complete Nurse Helper training class prior to orientation on the nursing unit.

Responsibilities

• Assist nursing staff in patient care under RN direction.
• Assist with patient care while avoiding exposure to body fluids or contaminated devices.

Summary

Assist the nursing staff in the delivery of patient care according to BayCare role specific responsibilities of a Nurse Helper I. Directed by the RN. Assist with patient care without encountering any body fluids (i.e., blood, urine, stool, saliva, dirty linens, emesis, etc.) or any devices that contain body fluids (such as but not limited to, urinary catheters, nasogastric tubes, drains, used basins, etc.).
