Job summary

BayCare Health System seeks a Nursing Assistant to support the nursing staff in delivering patient care under the supervision of an RN. The role involves assisting with activities of daily living and ensuring patient safety without direct exposure to body fluids or contained devices.

Qualifications

• BLS certification within 30 days of hire is required.
• Nurse Helper training must be completed prior to orientation on the nursing unit.
• Standard WELLE training is required.

Summary

Assists the nursing staff in delivery of patient care according to BayCare role specific responsibilities and as directed by the Registered Nurse (RN). Assists with activities of daily living without purposefully encountering any body fluids (i.e. blood, urine, stool, saliva, emesis, etc.) or any devices that contain body fluids (such as but not limited to urinary catheters, nasogastric tubes, drains, used basins, IV catheters, IV tubing, wounds, specimens, blood products, etc.). Performs patient transport assistance within the hospital, mobility assistance, sitter duties, and visual monitoring.
