Job summary

BayCare Health System in Clearwater, FL, seeks a Nurse Helper I to support nursing staff under RN supervision and assist with patient care.

Coverage includes 6:45 AM–7:15 PM shifts at Morton Plant; weekend rotation every other; on-site work; part of a large healthcare network in the Tampa Bay area.

Qualifications

• BLS certification within 30 days of hire.
• Standard WELLE training required.
• Must complete Nurse Helper training prior to orientation.

Responsibilities

• Assist nursing staff in delivery of patient care under RN direction.
• Assist with patient care while avoiding exposure to body fluids and contaminated devices.

Summary

Assist the nursing staff in the delivery of patient care according to BayCare role specific responsibilities of a Nurse Helper I. Directed by the RN. Assist with patient care without encountering any body fluids (i.e., blood, urine, stool, saliva, dirty linens, emesis, etc.) or any devices that contain body fluids (such as but not limited to, urinary catheters, nasogastric tubes, drains, used basins, etc.).

Qualifications: Completion of Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire. Standard WELLE® training is required. Must complete Nurse Helper training class prior to orientation on the nursing unit.
