Job summary

BayCare Health System in Winter Haven is seeking a Nurse Helper to support nursing staff during night shift. You will assist with activities of daily living, patient transport, mobility, sitter duties, and continuous monitoring while maintaining patient safety.

The role requires Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire, Nurse Helper training prior to orientation, and Standard WELLE training. This is a full-time, on-site evening shift position.

Qualifications

• Completion of Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire.
• Standard WELLE training is required.
• Must complete Nurse Helper training class prior to orientation on the nursing unit.

Responsibilities

• Assists the nursing staff in delivery of patient care and ADLs with minimal exposure to body fluids or devices.
• Performs patient transport and mobility assistance, sitter duties, and visual monitoring.
• Supports the RN as directed and adheres to BayCare role-specific responsibilities.

Summary:
Assists the nursing staff in delivery of patient care according to BayCare role specific responsibilities and as directed by the Registered Nurse (RN). Assists with activities of daily living without purposefully encountering any body fluids (i.e. blood, urine, stool, saliva, emesis, etc.) or any devices that contain body fluids (such as but not limited to urinary catheters, nasogastric tubes, drains, used basins, IV catheters, IV tubing, wounds, specimens, blood products, etc.). Performs patient transport assistance within the hospital, mobility assistance, sitter duties, and visual monitoring.
