Job summary

BayCare seeks a Nurse Helper to support nursing staff in patient care on the St Josephs Main and Childrens units. You will assist with activities of daily living, mobility, and monitoring under the guidance of the RN.

This full-time, night-shift role requires BLS within 30 days, WELLE training, and Nurse Helper training before orientation. On-site position in the Tampa Bay area with no remote work.

Qualifications

• BLS certification within 30 days of hire.
• Standard WELLE training required.
• Nurse Helper training class prior to orientation on the nursing unit.

Summary:
Assists the nursing staff in delivery of patient care according to BayCare role specific responsibilities and as directed by the Registered Nurse (RN). Assists with activities of daily living without purposefully encountering any body fluids (i.e. blood, urine, stool, saliva, emesis, etc.) or any devices that contain body fluids (such as but not limited to urinary catheters, nasogastric tubes, drains, used basins, IV catheters, IV tubing, wounds, specimens, blood products, etc.). Performs patient transport assistance within the hospital, mobility assistance, sitter duties, and visual monitoring.
