Job summary

MedStar Health’s Washington Hospital Center is seeking a Clinical Nurse for our Float Pool to deliver direct patient care across medical-surgical, telemetry, and ED settings in a Magnet-designated academic hospital.

You will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, assess patient conditions, and develop care plans while adapting to diverse units. Night shifts required; RN license in DC and BLS are required.

Qualifications

• Active DC RN License upon hire and Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers required (AHA or American Red Cross).
• At least two full years of recent critical care (inpatient ICU) experience.
• Ability to work night shifts; Academic Medical Center experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled, compassionate care to patients and families across a spectrum of needs—from routine to highly complex.
• Assess evolving patient conditions, identify actual and potential health concerns, and develop appropriate care plans.
• Interventions may be delivered directly or coordinated through collaboration with other members of the nursing team.

Education

ADN, BSN, MSN, or CNL from an accredited School of Nursing
