Dartmouth Health seeks a Nurse Regional Float (PRN) for the System Staffing Office, Medical Surgical. This role covers 48 hours in a 4 week period, including one weekend shift, with assignments to multiple DH system facilities from DHMC Lebanon to affiliated NH hospitals.

Per diem flexibility enables choosing locations across NH/NH Vermont ambulatory areas within the DH system. Applicants must graduate from an accredited Nursing Program.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited Nursing Program required.
• BSN preferred.
• Minimum 2 years experience required.
• Licensed Registered Nurse with NH eligibility.
• ACLS required at hire.

Responsibilities

• Uses the nursing process to assess, diagnose, identify outcomes, plan, implement and evaluate an individualized plan of care.
• Recognizes changes in patient status and modifies the plan or elevates to the care team as needed.
• Advocates for patients per the ANA Code of Ethics and ensures informed consent.
• Seeks feedback and strives to improve performance.
• Mentors colleagues and contributes to nursing practice advancement.
• Deliberately delegates elements of care within legal and policy guidelines.
• Prioritizes time to optimize patient outcomes.

Overview

Nurse Regional Float (PRN) – System Staffing Office, Medical Surgical

48 hours in a 4 Week period (includes one weekend shift)

This position is part of the System Staffing Office. Our Hospital Float nurses are experienced inpatient nurses with Medical and/or Surgical experience and who have agreed to go to at least two hospital facilities within the Dartmouth-Health System.

The FlexChoice per diem program recruits and on-boards experienced, professional, per diem RNs, LPNs, MAs, and LNAs, and allows them the flexibility to design their own schedule and choose from a variety of diverse and exciting practice locations across the D-H system. These locations include DHMC in Lebanon, our affiliate hospitals – Cheshire Medical Center, New London Hospital, Mount Ascutney Hospital and Alice Peck Day Memorial Hospital, and their ambulatory areas, as well as D-H ambulatory locations in Vermont and New Hampshire (CGPs).

Responsibilities

1. Utilizes the nursing process to assess, diagnose, identify outcomes, plan, implement and evaluate an individualized plan of care.
2. Utilizes critical thinking and the nursing process to anticipate and recognize changes in patient status, taking action to modify the plan of care or to elevate to the care team as necessary.
3. Practices in accordance with the ANA Code of Ethics to advocate for patients, uphold their autonomy in decision-making, ensure informed consent and assist patients in families in expressing self-determination.
4. Actively seeks feedback and acts to improve performance.
5. Engages in the governance of practice.
6. Manages interpersonal relationships for self and with others.
7. Mentors colleagues for the advancement of nursing practice and the profession.
8. Assumes authority and accountability for the nursing care of patients while appropriately delegating elements of care to others members of the care delivery team in accordance with laws, regulations and policies and procedures.
9. Prioritizes and organizes time to optimize patient outcomes.
10. Actively seeks out the most current evidence and standards and applies and translates to daily practice.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited Nursing Program required.
• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• Minimum 2 years experience required

Required Licensure/Certifications

– Licensed Registered Nurse with NH eligibility
