Evangelical Community Hospital offers a Summer 2027 Nurse Externship for nursing students. The program runs May 17, 2027 to July 10, 2027, with two 4‑week unit experiences and a minimum of 36 hours per week of paid clinical work under direct RN supervision.

Rotations include Orthopedics/Med-Surg, ED, CCU/IMC, Acute Care, and OR/Surgical Services. Applicants must be enrolled in an accredited nursing program, have completed MS rotations, and maintain good standing; BLS is required on hire.

Formación

• Must be enrolled in an approved nursing program with completion of two clinical semesters.
• Must maintain good standing status in an accredited nursing program.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required upon hire.
• Completion of at least one medical-surgical clinical rotation prior to Summer Externship

Responsabilidades

• 1:1 mentorship with an experienced RN preceptor.
• Rotations across Orthopedics, Med-Surg, ED, Critical Care, Acute Care, and OR/Surgical Services.
• Rotating shifts based on preceptor schedule and program needs

• Paid clinical experience
• Rotating shifts based on preceptor schedule
• Consideration given for RN students who are entering final semester/year (graduation in winter 2027 - summer 2028)
• Must have completed medical-surgical rotation in accredited nursing program prior to start of externship
• Must maintain good standing status in accredited nursing program
• 1:1 with an experienced RN preceptor

• Orthopedics & Med-Surg
• Emergency Department
• Critical Care Unit / Intermediate Care Unit
• Acute Care
• Operating Room / Surgical Services

Qualifications

Minimum Education:

• High School Diploma or GED Currently enrolled in an approved Nursing program with completion of two clinical semesters. Required and
• High School Diploma or GED Enrollment in an accredited BSN program Preferred

Licenses:

• Basic Life Support Upon Hire Required

Courses and Training:

• Completion of at least one medical-surgical clinical rotation Upon Hire Required
• Must be passing in an accredited program prior to Summer Externship Program Upon Hire Required
