Job summary

Medical City Plano is seeking Nurse Extern PRN opportunities in Surgical Oncology, Medical Oncology, Med Surg, Float Pool, ICU Stepdown, Cardiac Stepdown, and Neuro PCU. You will gain hands-on experience as you explore the RN role while delivering safe and compassionate patient care.

You will assist with ADLs, monitor vital signs, perform basic nursing tasks, document care, and help patients and families understand care plans as you progress through your nursing program.

Qualifications

• Basic Cardiac Life Support certification (BCLS) must be obtained within 30 days of start date.
• Enrollment in an accredited ADN or BSN program is required.
• Completion of foundation, fundamental, or med surg I clinical is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with ADLs, vital signs, mobility, and comfort.
• Perform nursing tasks such as wound care, catheter care, specimen collection, and related procedures.
• Document care accurately and communicate updates with the nursing team.
