Job summary

Angel Medical Center, part of HCA Healthcare, seeks a Nurse Extern for PRN shifts to join our nursing team. You will gain hands-on experience as you explore the Registered Nurse role and deliver safe, compassionate care under supervision.

You will assist with ADLs, vital signs, wound care, specimen collection, and patient education while documenting care and coordinating with the team. Enrolled in an accredited nursing program with CNA certification and BLS within 7 days preferred.

Qualifications

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 7 days of employment start date.
• CNA certification is required.
• Enrolled in an accredited nursing program.

Responsibilities

• Providing essential care for patients by helping with ADLs, checking vital signs, supporting mobility, and ensuring comfort and hygiene.
• Performing nursing tasks like wound care, catheter care, collecting specimens, and other basic procedures as you gain experience.
• Documenting care accurately and communicating timely updates with the nursing team to keep patient care seamless and coordinated.
• Helping patients and families understand their care plans and offering guidance for their health and recovery.
• Keeping patient areas clean and safe by following infection prevention practices, managing equipment, and maintaining an organized environment.
• Engaging in learning opportunities and collaborating with supervisors to build your personal career development plan.
