Job summary

HCA Florida Orange Park Hospital in Florida is seeking a Nurse Extern (PRN) to join our nursing team and gain hands-on experience while pursuing an RN program. You’ll assist with ADLs, monitor vital signs, and support safe, compassionate care under the guidance of licensed nurses.

Qualifications

• Current enrollment in an accredited RN program.
• Basic Life Support certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.

Responsibilities

• Providing essential care for patients by helping with ADLs, checking vital signs, supporting mobility, and ensuring comfort and hygiene
• Performing nursing tasks like wound care, catheter care, collecting specimens, and other basic procedures as you gain experience
• Documenting care accurately and communicating timely updates with the nursing team to keep patient care seamless and coordinated
• Helping patients and families understand their care plans and offering guidance for their health and recovery
• Keeping patient areas clean and safe by following infection prevention practices, managing equipment, and maintaining an organized environment
• Championing your growth and enhancing patient care by engaging in learning opportunities, sharing ideas to improve care, and partnering with your supervisor or preceptor to build your personal career development plan
