Job summary

Saline Memorial Hospital in Benton, AR, seeks a Nurse Extern to assist under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. This PRN role offers hands-on learning in a fast-paced clinical setting and exposure to patient care across disciplines.

You will document care, monitor patient conditions, and support daily living activities while building confidence and clinical skills. Applicants must be enrolled in an accredited nursing program, maintain BLS certification, and have less than a year of school

Qualifications

• Enrolled nursing student with current eligibility to participate in clinical rotations.
• BLS certification required.
• Less than one year remaining in nursing program.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the patient care team.
• Perform direct patient care under RN supervision.
• Document patient care provided.
• Monitor, record, and communicate patient conditions to the RN.
• Maintain positive professional relationships with patients, families, coworkers, and health care team.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs).
• Coordinate patient care across disciplines (transfers, discharges, referrals, spiritual/psychosocial support).
• Assess learning needs of patients and families and provide education.
• Advocate for patient physical and emotional well-being.
• Support performance improvement initiatives.
