Job summary

TriStar NorthCrest Medical Center in Springfield, Tennessee seeks a Nurse Extern PRN Float to join our nursing team. You will gain hands-on experience as you explore the Registered Nurse role while delivering safe, compassionate care to patients.

You will work with supervision from your nurse preceptor, perform essential nursing tasks as you progress through your program, and grow professional skills in a supportive, patient-centered environment.

Qualifications

• BCLS must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.

Responsibilities

• Provide essential patient care by assisting with ADLs, monitoring vital signs, supporting mobility, and ensuring comfort and hygiene.
• Perform nursing tasks such as wound care, catheter care, specimen collection, and other basic procedures as you gain experience.
• Document care accurately and communicate timely updates with the nursing team to ensure coordinated patient care.
• Assist patients and families in understanding care plans and guidance for health and recovery.
• Maintain clean and safe patient areas following infection prevention practices and proper equipment management.
• Engage in learning opportunities and collaborate with your supervisor to develop your personal career plan.
