Henry Ford Health in Detroit, MI is seeking a Nurse Extern for the Orthopedics/General Surgery unit. This part-time role offers valuable inpatient experience on a fast-paced post-surgical unit, supporting the RN in delivering patient-centered care and contributing to safety and comfort.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED or enrolled in the Henry Ford Health Early College Program with completion of two clinical rotations.
Enrolled in an accredited school of nursing with completion of two clinical rotations, including one in Med/Surg (acute care setting).
Current Health Care Provider Certification.

Responsibilities

Perform specific patient care duties to meet safety and comfort needs under RN supervision.
Provide input to assist the RN in planning and implementing patient care.
Respond to emergent situations according to established procedures.
Participate in continuing education to enhance your nursing skills and knowledge.
