MetroWest Medical Center - Consolidated in Framingham, MA is seeking a Nurse Extern to support Licensed Nurses in med-surg units, including a primary stroke center and a long-term acute care unit. This role provides expanded clinical experience for senior nursing students and opportunities to contribute to patient care planning and bedside support.

You must be enrolled in an accredited RN program with completion of first clinical rotation and CPR certification.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an accredited RN program with first clinical rotation completed.
• CPR certification required.
• Strong teamwork and patient-centered care.

Responsibilities

• Assist Registered Nursing staff with patient care activities.
• Participate in patient care planning, implementation, observation, and evaluation.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to provide care in facilities including stroke center and long-term acute care unit.
• Perform related duties as required.

Job Summary

Collaborates with multidisciplinary team members to provide the very best care for our med-surg patients in our advanced facilities that include a primary stroke center and a long-term acute care unit.

Responsibilities

• The Nurse Extern role is designed to provide expanded clinical experience for senior professional (RN) nursing students and to assist the Registered Nursing staff by performing patient care activities
• Participates in patient care planning, implementation, observation, and evaluation, as well as reporting significant observations to a Registered Nurse.
• Collaborates with multidisciplinary team members to provide the very best care for our med-surg patients in our advanced facilities that include a primary stroke center and a long-term acute care unit.
• Performs related duties as required

Required:

• Education:Currently enrolled in an accredited RN program, and upon completion of first clinical rotation.
• Certifications:CPR.
