MetroWest Medical Center in Framingham is seeking a Nurse Extern to support Registered Nurse staff in med-surg units, including a primary stroke center and LTAC. You will assist with patient care activities under supervision while advancing clinical skills.

Currently enrolled in an accredited RN program, you will participate in care planning, documentation, and report significant observations. CPR certification is required; this role offers hands-on experience and career development

Job Summary

Collaborates with multidisciplinary team members to provide the very best care for our med-surg patients in our advanced facilities that include a primary stroke center and a long-term acute care unit.

Responsibilities

• The Nurse Extern role is designed to provide expanded clinical experience for senior professional (RN) nursing students and to assist the Registered Nursing staff by performing patient care activities
• Participates in patient care planning, implementation, observation, and evaluation, as well as reporting significant observations to a Registered Nurse.
• Collaborates with multidisciplinary team members to provide the very best care for our med-surg patients in our advanced facilities that include a primary stroke center and a long-term acute care unit.
• Performs related duties as required

Qualifications

Required:

• Education:Currently enrolled in an accredited RN program, and upon completion of first clinical rotation.
• Certifications: CPR.
