Every time.****JOB SUMMARY**The Nurse Extern will Assist licensed Nursing staff in providing care to patients of all ages under the direction of the Registered Nurse and within the scope of defined best practices of Nursing. The Extern may work with pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. The Nurse Extern will perform clinical rotation shifts within several different, extern specified areas of nursing. The Extern will learn in depth knowledge of the various areas of Nursing and will be given the opportunity to work hands on with Patients as well as working side by side with Nurses and Physicians.n**JOB QUALIFICATIONS****Education:** Must be enrolled in the final year an accredited nursing program.**Licensure**: Current CPR required**Experience:** Prior experience in same or similar position is desirable. Medical terminology preferred.**PHYSICAL, MENTAL, ENVIRONMENTAL AND WORKING CONDITIONS**Works in typical acute health care setting with neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients experiencing a wide range of medical and/or surgical problems. Required to work flexible schedule including weekends. Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination. Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time. Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 50 pounds. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range. Requires working under stressful conditions. Requires exposure to communicable diseases or body fluids.
