Job summary

Mission Hospital in Asheville, North Carolina, is seeking a Nurse Extern for PRN opportunities to gain hands-on experience with the nursing team. Qualifications

• Must obtain Basic Cardiac Life Support within 30 days of start date.
• Currently enrolled in a nursing program accredited under 21 NCAC 36.0302(b)(1).
• NC (CNA) Certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), monitor vital signs, support mobility and comfort.
• Perform basic nursing tasks as you gain experience and grow competency (wound care, catheter care, specimen collection).
• Document care accurately and communicate updates with the nursing team to ensure coordinated patient care.
• Help patients and families understand care plans and provide guidance for recovery.
• Maintain clean, safe patient areas and follow infection prevention practices.
• Engage in learning opportunities and work with your supervisor to develop your career plan.
