Job summary

Wellstar Health System invites current nursing students to join the Student Nurse Extern (SNE) program in the United States. The extern provides basic care under the supervision of a registered nurse and gains bedside experience while pursuing an RN degree.

Role requires completion of at least one clinical, strong communication, teamwork, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with compassion and professionalism.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and one clinical in an accredited pre-licensure nursing program.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• At least one clinical rotation completed in an acute care setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic patient care under supervision of a Registered Nurse.
• Perform basic patient care tasks (hygiene, nutrition, elimination, comfort).
• Maintain clean and safe patient rooms and unit areas.
• Conduct hourly patient rounding and respond to calls.
• Assist RN and care team with care delivery as assigned.
