Job summary

Charleston Area Medical Center is seeking a Nurse Extern for the 5 South Surgical Unit at Mon Medical Center Main Campus. You will develop nursing skills under an experienced RN and gain hands-on experience in direct patient care.

You will perform assessments, participate in planning and implementing care, and contribute to outcomes evaluation under supervision, with emphasis on compassionate, patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associate's Degree indicated.
• CPR credential required or that CPR is recognized.

Responsibilities

• Assess data under the direction of the registered nurse to support patient care.
• Diagnose under RN supervision and plan care with clinical excellence.
• Identify expected outcomes for an individualized care plan.
• Develop a plan with strategies to attain outcomes.
• Implement the care plan under supervision and provide compassionate care.
• Evaluate progress toward outcomes with RN guidance.
