Job summary

OU Health is seeking a Nurse Educator to lead staff development across an assigned unit and ensure alignment with the OU Health Way. The role focuses on planning, implementing and evaluating education programs, with emphasis on competency, orientation, CPR training and quality improvement in patient care.

The Nurse Educator will promote inclusive practice, maintain licensure requirements, and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to improve patient outcomes and staff development initiatives.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures.
• Ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services and apply nursing techniques.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Align behaviors with OU Health values and maintain nursing professional practice standards.
• Plan, implement, evaluate and document staff development and in-service.
• Develop criteria to evaluate staff needs and measure training program effectiveness.
• Coordinate and facilitate competency development, verification and maintenance activities.
• Coordinate nursing orientation program.
• Facilitate quality improvement activities and assess age-appropriate care program implementation.
• Plan, implement and evaluate Preceptor Program.
• Coordinate CPR training meeting American Heart Association requirements and JCAHO standards.
