Job summary

Granite Hills Hospital, part of Universal Health Services, seeks a dynamic Staff Educator Nurse to support nursing staff education and employee health programs in West Allis, Wisconsin.

The role involves evaluating and designing hospital training events for RN/MHT staff, with CPI/Verbal De-Escalation and CPR training as part of orientation. Weekend training may be required on occasion.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in nursing required.
• Wisconsin RN licensure active.
• Minimum 3 years of direct clinical experience, preferably in psychiatric/mental health settings.
• Experience in staff education and training.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing staff education and training across the hospital.
• Oversee employee health and compliance programs.
• Assist the CNO in evaluating, reviewing, and designing training events for RN/MHT staff.
• Prepare and present training events; may coordinate weekend sessions as needed.

The 120 beds are split into five groups of 24 with enclosed outdoor spaces to promote healing. We are seeking a dynamic and talented Staff Educator Nurse to join our team!

The Staff Educator is a Registered Nurse who is responsible for providing technical support and education for the hospital staff. In this role you will be responsible for nursing staff education and training, and for the employee health and compliance program. Additionally in this role you will assist the CNO in evaluating, reviewing, designing and implementing hospital training events with respect to all RN/MHT staff required training.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited program in nursing. Master’s Level preferred.

Experience: A minimum of three (3) years direct clinical experience preferred in a psychiatric or mental health setting, with direct experience in staff education, nursing practices, patient assessments, education concepts, practices and procedures.

Licensure: Registered Nurse in state of Wisconsin.

Additional Requirements: Complete knowledge of crisis intervention techniques, restraint and seclusion, and ability to prepare and present training events as directed for Nursing Services. Completion of training in CPI/Verbal De-Escalation and CPR which can be obtained during new hire orientation. May be required to work occasional weekends and/or other hours; conduct weekend training as needed.
