Position Overview: The UNC Medical Center Outpatient Education and Training team is seeking a dedicated Nurse Educator to support nursing and clinical staff development, including onboarding, competency, practice, and ongoing professional growth in ambulatory/outpatient clinics and procedural areas. Responsibilities include onboarding/orientation, educational support, regulatory/competency needs, skill training, apprentice programs, student placements, organizational initiatives, and policy development. Preferred candidates will have professional development/education and clinical experience, especially in children’s and/or women’s services.
This is a weekday, on-site position based at Hedrick Building, Chapel Hill, NC, with occasional travel to off-site clinics. Strong communication, organization, creativity, initiative, and time management skills are essential for managing multiple projects independently and collaboratively.
Education: BSN from an accredited nursing school.
Licenses/Certifications: RN license in North Carolina, CPR/BLS certification, and professional certification in a specialty within 6 months of hire.
Experience: Minimum 3 years in tertiary care, with at least 2 years in the specialty area. Experience in education, outpatient settings, women’s or pediatric services is preferred.
Skills: Strong organizational, interpersonal, communication skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Full-time, salaried position with a pay range of $35.52 - $49.81/hour, based on experience. Onsite work in Chapel Hill, NC, with a standard 40-hour workweek. Exempt from overtime.
