HCA Florida North Florida Hospital is seeking a Nurse Educator in Medical Surgical to enhance professional practice through evidence-based educational programs for nursing and allied staff. The role emphasizes onboarding, competency development, and ongoing professional growth across the facility.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s in Nursing, with a Master’s preferred, and 2+ years in clinical education or leadership within an acute care setting. Travel up to 25% is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing is required.
• Master’s degree in nursing is preferred.
• 2+ years of experience in clinical education, CSC, academia or leadership is preferred.
• 2+ years of experience in acute care hospital is preferred.
• Currently licensed as an RN in the state of practice or has an active compact state license is required.
• Nationally Recognized Specialty certification is preferred.
• Basic Life Saving (BLS) is required.
• Ability to travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities

• Participates in development, coordination, management, facilitation, conduction, and evaluation of onboarding and orientation programs for nursing and other healthcare personnel.
• Provides orientation/onboarding programs to promote employee retention.
• Collaborates with the Director of Clinical Professional Development to adjust the program based on evaluation results.
• Participates in development, coordination, and management of competency education.
• Designs educational activities to address practice gaps for identified audiences, aligned with clinical education processes.
• Develops activities to achieve outcomes related to deficits or opportunities for improvement in knowledge, skill and practice.
• Promotes and integrates evidence-based practice to improve patient care and participates in research, EBP, and quality improvement.
• Identifies opportunities for lifelong learning and staff development.
• Utilizes a novice-to-expert continuum when developing staff and provides opportunities for skill enhancement.
