Job summary

The University of Miami Nursing Education team seeks an experienced Nurse Educator to assess and implement educational programs across multiple units. You will collaborate with nurse educators, practitioners, and management to address learning needs and ensure competency.

You will develop activities to improve knowledge and practice, coordinate onboarding, and lead continuing education events. The role emphasizes retention, growth, and high-quality patient care within a university health system.

Responsibilities

• Assess and implement multi-site educational programs for nursing staff.
• Develop and evaluate activities to close knowledge gaps and improve practice.
• Create a learning environment with practitioners and educators for continuing education.
• Coordinate education of patient care staff for equipment and supplies.
• Document competency and address competency deficits.
• Orient and socialize new staff for retention and growth.
• Facilitate onboarding for licensed and unlicensed staff across units.
• Collaborate to develop onboarding and orientation programs.
• Plan and evaluate continuing education programs, conferences and workshops.
