Job summary

HCA Florida Englewood Hospital is seeking a Nurse Educator to enhance professional practice and the provision of quality patient care by delivering evidence-based educational programs for nursing, inter-professional, and clinical staff at the facility.

The role covers onboarding, competency development, and ongoing professional growth, partnering with the Director of Clinical Professional Development to tailor programs based on evaluation results.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing required.
• Master’s degree in nursing preferred.
• 2+ years of experience in clinical education, CSC, academia or leadership preferred.
• 2+ years of experience in acute care hospital preferred.
• RN license in state of practice or active compact license required.
• Nationally Recognized Specialty certification preferred.
• Basic Life Saving (BLS) required.
• Ability to travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities

• Participates in development, coordination, managing, facilitating, conducting, and evaluating onboarding and orientation programs for nursing and other healthcare personnel.
• Provides orientation/onboarding programs to promote employee retention.
• Collaborates with the Director of Clinical Professional Development to adjust the program based on evaluation results.
• Participates in development, coordination, and management of competency.
• Identifies educational activities to address practice gaps for licensed and non-licensed staff.
• Plans educational content delivery that promotes learner engagement.
• Promotes evidence-based practice to improve care and participates in research, EBP, and QI.
• Supports lifelong learning and staff skill maturation.
• Utilizes the novice-to-expert continuum for staff development.
