Job summary

HCA Florida Englewood Hospital is seeking a Nurse Educator to enhance professional practice by delivering evidence-based educational programs for nursing, inter-professional, and clinical staff at the facility.

You will develop onboarding, competency-based education, and ongoing professional development initiatives, collaborating with leadership to tailor curricula, promote evidence-based practice, and support lifelong learning across acute care settings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing required.
• Master’s degree in nursing preferred.
• 2+ years of clinical education, CSC, academia or leadership experience preferred.
• 2+ years of acute care hospital experience preferred.
• Current RN license in state of practice or compact license required.
• Nationally recognized specialty certification preferred.
• BLS required.
• Ability to travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities

• Participates in the development, coordination, managing, facilitating, conducting, and evaluating onboarding and orientation programs for nursing and other healthcare personnel.
• Provides orientation/onboarding programs to promote employee retention.
• Collaborates with the Director of Clinical Professional Development to adjust the program based on evaluation results.
• Participates in the development, coordination, and management of facilitating, conducting, and evaluating competency.
• Designs and identifies educational activities to address practice gaps for identified target audiences, including licensed and non-licensed healthcare personnel, in alignment with HCA and division clinical education request and development processes.
• Develops activities to achieve specific outcomes related to identified deficits or opportunities for improvement in knowledge, skill and practice.
• Promotes and integrates the EBP to continuously improve practice. Conducts, encourages, facilitates, and/or participates in research, EBP, and QI in patient care settings.
• Identifies and develops strategies to facilitate a continuous process of maturation through lifelong learning.
