Job Summary and Qualifications

The Nurse Educator enhances practice and patient care by providing evidence-based educational programs that promote competency among nursing, inter-professional, and clinical staff at the facility.

In this role you will:
  • Develop, coordinate, manage, facilitate, conduct, and evaluate onboarding and orientation programs for healthcare personnel.
  • Provide orientation/onboarding to promote retention.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Clinical Professional Development to refine programs based on evaluations.
  • Develop and evaluate competency programs.
  • Design educational activities to address practice gaps, aligning with organizational requests.
  • Create activities targeting knowledge, skills, and practice improvements, encouraging learner engagement.
  • Promote and incorporate Evidence-Based Practice (EBP) to improve practice quality.
  • Participate in research, EBP, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Identify and develop strategies for lifelong learning and staff skill enhancement.
Required Experience and Education:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (Required).
  • Master’s Degree in Nursing (Preferred).
  • 2+ years in clinical education, academia, or leadership (Preferred).
  • 2+ years in acute care hospital setting (Preferred).
  • Current RN license in the state of practice or active compact license (Required).
  • Nationally recognized specialty certification (Preferred).
  • Basic Life Saving (BLS) certification (Required).
  • Ability to travel up to 25%.
