Qualifications

Job Summary and Qualifications

The Nurse Educator enhances professional practice and quality patient care by providing evidence-based educational programs that promote competency among nursing, inter-professional, and clinical staff at the assigned facility.

In this role, you will:
  • Participate in developing, managing, facilitating, conducting, and evaluating onboarding and orientation programs for healthcare personnel.
  • Provide orientation/onboarding programs to promote employee retention.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Clinical Professional Development to improve programs based on evaluation results.
  • Develop, coordinate, and evaluate competency programs.
  • Design educational activities to address practice gaps for various target audiences, aligning with organizational requests and development processes.
  • Create activities to improve knowledge, skills, and practice, encouraging learner engagement.
  • Promote and incorporate Evidence-Based Practice (EBP) to continuously improve practice.
  • Participate in research, EBP, and Quality Improvement (QI) initiatives.
  • Identify and develop strategies for lifelong learning and staff skill enhancement.
Qualifications and Experience Needed:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (Required)
  • Master’s Degree in Nursing (Preferred)
  • 2+ years of experience in clinical education, academia, or leadership (Preferred)
  • 2+ years of experience in an acute care hospital (Preferred)
  • Current RN license in the state of practice or active compact license (Required)
  • Nationally recognized specialty certification (Preferred)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (Required)
  • Ability to travel up to 25%
