Job summary

Manchester Memorial Hospital, Inc. is seeking a Clinical Nurse Educator to lead nursing professional development initiatives in collaboration with nursing leadership.

The role focuses on designing, implementing, and evaluating education programs that promote evidence-based practice and high-quality patient care. The ideal candidate will have a BSN, CT RN licensure, a minimum of 3 years of clinical nursing experience (including acute care), and demonstrated expertise in education, leadership, and

Qualifications

• BSN required.
• Minimum 3 years of active clinical nursing experience.
• At least 1 year in an acute care environment or ambulatory/ancillary environments.
• Experience as a preceptor.
• Licensed Registered Nurse from CT DPH before hire date.
• NPD or Clinical Specialty Certification within two years of hire.
• BLS required.
• Demonstrates ability to develop, deliver and evaluate educational programs.
• Working knowledge of high reliability and LEAN process improvement strategies.
• Excellent communication and ability to manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Learning Facilitator: uses educational design and adult learning principles to bridge knowledge gaps identified through needs assessment and outcomes evaluation.
• Collaborative Partner: works with nursing leadership to assess learning needs, develop programs, monitor competency, and support action plans; represents nursing in inter-professional learning activities.
• Role Development: promotes professional nursing practice per ANA standards and supports the continuum from novice to expert.
• Mentor: advances the nursing profession and the NPD specialty through ongoing professional development.
• Competency Management: uses tools to capture knowledge, skill, and performance during practice.
• Orientation: develops and evaluates onboarding programs during role changes and onboarding.
• Change Agent: drives process improvements across micro/meso/macro systems.
• Champion of Scientific Inquiry: promotes inquiry and use of evidence to improve care quality.
